🔴 Joao, Portugal 🔴

Joao is grows pomegranates on his family farm in south-east Portugal with a focus on sustainability, ‘cultivating today in order to preserve tomorrow’.

The move into pomegranates was inspired by discovering pomegranate's fabulous eating quality and versatility as well as its nutritional antioxidant characteristics. Joao also wanted to produce more locally grown fruit as it was apparent that the growing region presents ideal growing conditions; low rainfall in the winter and lots of sunshine and high temperatures during the summer.

Joao eats pomegranate seeds every day and enjoys using them in a variety of ways, however his preference is to simply eat the seeds as a flavour-packed healthy snack.
